Twenty-year-old Timothy is finding it hard to get his life going. Having dropped out of uni, and abandoned a dead-end job, he volunteers at Sangreal Hall, a community for people with learning difficulties. He is intrigued by the esoteric spiritual ideas he finds there but distracted by his relentless fascination with men.

April is eighteen, taking a gap year before uni. The practice of traditional rural crafts alongside other women is a respite from boys and dating, yet she is still overwhelmed by the attention she gets from young farmers, craftsmen, house-parents and the school-age sons of staff. April is drawn to the one volunteer who doesn't show any interest in her.

Where will Timothy and April's paths of attraction lead them?
